Wearing green means I can’t be seen today

Leprechauns hide their treasures so deep

One piece of gold will serve me well

To bring good luck all your life

I leave a note to say

IOU you one gold piece

Plus interest

My hunt done

I go

home.

Our entry for Colleen’s Weekly #Poetry Challenge

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 168 #SynonymsOnly

SynonymnsOnly-wk2.png

Here are the two words selected by Ruth Scribbles, from last month’s #SyllablesOnly challenge:

COMFORT & WORN

My

Armchair

Soft comfort

Worn out, threadbare

Like me, it’s timeworn

Yet happiness lives there

relief for my aching back

My very tattered worn out friend

It started life in my mother’s house

Something no amount of money can buy…

Quick

stubborn

Midnight sky

Dark thin branches

An old sentinel

Safeguarding the portal

Forgotten time, another world

Bright lights, hidden moon disguising

Daring to enter where angels won’t

Bring back new magic to a world waiting…

#Colleen’s #Poetry Challenge…

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 160 #SynonymsOnly

Anita has composed an etheree poem this week for Colleen’s words CALM and PRESENT.

Slow

Running

Cool water

Smooth round boulders

Ancient hands have touched

They speak of memory

Old-time tingling my fingers

Something new begins, today’s thought

Standing on history, time waiting

To awaken again by someone’s touch…

#Colleen’s #Poetry Challenge ~ Time Remembered… #Etheree

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 159, #Poet’sChoice

It

matters

to me now

The lies you told.

The stories have grown

whispering in the street.

They have painted me scarlet

for one moment, a stolen kiss

old sweetheart, returning, passing through

time remembered, repeated, stains my lips…

LcdjR55xi.pngThis is our choice of words this week in an #etheree poem…

MAGIC & LOVE

Stand

Beneath

The north star

Feel the magic

Calling for more time

Bring back yesterday’s glow

The one who made life worthwhile

When love is kissed the morning sun

Hear music carried by the sea breeze

Stay, feel the rhythm of the universe…

I

Slip by

Shadows, dream

I slide, stumble

I cannot afford

To end this dream, death waits

I need someone to assist

To make sure that I am woken

Before I tumble into black wings

I hear no alarm bell, no voice calling

My name is silent, no one to wake me

I feel the soft velvet touch of death

Inky darkness carries my mind

Would someone bestow some light

Provide me a way out

Call back my foolish

thought of leaving

I want to

keep my

Life.
