Can You Hear Her… #Poetry

Can you hear her crying late at night?
Over the loud music, I hear her tears
You and I watch as she carries her pain
Nothing we do can change the beat of time
Tomorrow, the clouds remain dark, full of tears
Down the rabbit hole, the music has a merry beat
Over the river, sits the King on his throne
Waiting to greet new visitors to carry their tears
Evening starlight removes her pain
Never again, would her tears last through the night…

Look to the Horizon… #Poetry

Look to the Horizon

Black night when souls
Fall beyond the horizon
Chains crash like dark waves
Against the shore
Birds, pecking on glass
Glass breaking
Flesh torn
Pierced through to the heart
Is this the sound of war?
The sound of sorrow?
Hot tears like desert rain
Taking life back to where it came
Human dust fills the air
Life is futile
Time consists of silence
The living weep
All in vain…

What do you see # 63 – January 4, 21

( For the visually challenged reader, the image shows the sun setting over the horizon, and in the foreground, you can see rail tracks)

I sit beneath the red light of a dying day
Waiting for the next train to take me away
from the tears shed in this town
The gentle sound of water
Soothing my broken heart
He said he loved me while loving another
I cannot be an extra string to his bow
One more notch on his bed post
I need to be someone’s one and only…
