Silent Sunday… #Time

We did remember to change the clocks this morning, all six of them. With each one we altered, we bemoaned the loss of that precious hour, as all time is precious without having it stolen from us. And before you mention it, we know we get it back again in October!

It’s probably something to do with old age, but time does seem to be speeding up at an alarming rate. It seems we only have to blink and that’s another month gone. It’s as if we are racing to get somewhere, and if that is the case, a few clues would be nice!

Can you wrap your body
In another man’s shadow?
Walk in his footsteps,
Eventually taking over his life.
Can you walk through London,
New York, Tokyo, Moscow?
Wondering what to do
with the fourteen minutes to the hour
that they have in common.
What can you find out about yourself
In such short a time?
Does the completed hour
Connect them in some unknown way?
London would be ten o clock
New York five o clock
Tokyo seven o clock
Moscow one o clock
On the surface, it would appear not.
Still, I wonder about the fourteen minutes
between each city…

Odd Time… #Poetry

Odd Time

I found out recently that time does slow down

As if wearing lead boots

It’s when the earth does a strange wobble

Weirder yet, is the way I keep seeing the clock at

10:10, 11:11, 12:12 I could go on.

In the middle of the night, on the loo

No matter where I go, I spot the double digits

My favourite is the triple. 2:22, 3:33, and so on

I have been told it’s meant to mean

I am in tune with the universe

Thing is, I don’t feel in tune, I wish I was,

for life would be so much better I am told

By those who feel they know

I have yet to find out what this means for me

As I believe we are all different

Surely it must have a meaning.

I promise you; I don’t deliberately look for it

Maybe it’s just strange timing and has no deeper meaning

Yet I can’t help wondering…
