Searching… part two The Sunday ~ Whirl #Wordle 578 #Poetry

Continued from last week… Part One HERE

I wondered how I could be rid of her nagging
I exhale, pretend to listen
There was a change in the air
As though something had opened up
The break in the path we were walking looked dangerous
Somehow, she made it across
Had I missed my chance to nudge her over the edge?
No, I still needed her mind to find the legendary pot of gold
I shake myself, hoping to rid myself of the bad thoughts
I had no choice but follow her lead
Going home having failed, was not an option
Listening to her going over the clues
I remembered the walks we went on
when we first met each other
She had great style in those days
I watch as she lights the fire for the night
Wondering if we were chasing rainbows
I fell asleep watching the old fort
throw shadows across the land
Hoping the search for the end would come soon…

Searching… The Sunday Whirl ~ Wordle #577 ~ #Poetry

Searching for the pot of gold
Said to buried near the old fort
beneath a willow tree
We had no idea where to start
My partner grumbling
I thought I heard her say under her breath
“If you want something done, do it yourself.”
Had I misplaced my trust in her?
My ego inflated, I could not forgive her
for killing the guard, I could have taken him
Maybe she knows me better than I know myself
In the end all I could do was follow her lead
Focus, be kind, let her lead us to the treasure
Deal with her later
My intention was to be the lone survivor of the search…

Destiny Came Knocking… #Poetry

Image by Luminas Art from Pixabay

Sailing through the universe,
searching for the stone of destiny
Over dark tides, through the spiral arms of the Milky Way
Pulsing gas giants blind you with colour, their majesty
Home, left so far behind, a speck in my mind’s eye
Illuminated by memory, the blue ball keeps spinning
Stars fall, like giant rocks lit by a trail of fire
Taking time to marvel at the hand of God
inside my chest my heart swells with the beauty,
ribbons of colour to turn the mind over,
Collecting my breath with ever colour changing gas clouds
Away beyond infinity all things merge, making new wonders
Tying the universe together like one giant playground
Ending my journey back home,
where the stone lay beneath my feet
Destiny came knocking at my own back door…

Don’t Run… #Poetry

Don’t Run

I run around the world
Searching for something
that’s behind, tapping me
on the shoulder
the faster I run
the harder they tap
the wind whispers
turn around
it’s all there, waiting for you
I stop, I turn, I stare
Into the mirror
I hear, don’t run…

Searching… #Poetry

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

Three walked the riverbank, old friends
Searching for Arundel, the lost castle
Made from elfin hair, stronger than any fortress
Hide to find, the legend states it moves from place to place
So few have returned to tell the tale
Of a castle made from hair that stands as rigid as bone
From so many travellers who did not find their way home…
