The Nature of Lightning

Image by Pete Linforth from Pixabay

I
feel your
hungry eyes
touch my body
I will hold you close
move like a hurricane
lose our souls in the storm wind
love like the last lightning strike
watch as the world fades into darkness
leave nothing to chance but your hungry eyes
enter the dragons mouth, hear lightning
tear each star from the vault of heaven
dance on the dark side of the moon
write history with blue light
hungry eyes speak of love
lightning, our song
let me be struck
more than once
touch me
again

Will we meet again
When I’m dreaming
My heart beats loud
Like the ocean
Rushing to shore
Searching for you
Are you dreaming
Waiting for me
Hold the dark nights
I’m on my way
Will we meet again?

Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge…

#TankaTuesday Weekly Poetry Challenge No. 259:

Red is the colour of my true loves hair
I foolishly lost her in a dream
my days are too full of longing
to find the love I have lost
alas, the days are long
the night is too dark
my heart broken
my pillow
drenched in
tears

Falling in

I find myself exploring shadows.
Falling into many shades of midnight.

I search for patterns
tripping, falling over cracks
sliding back to black
dark matter controlling time
send my mind back to midnight
