I seem to have spent my life having to change.
So many times, due to ever changing circumstances, have caused me to rethink who I am, and how I want to be in the future.
As much as I am used to making these changes, this past year has been something else. I have had to change how I feel about a lot more things, and learn new ways to cope with them.
This has been what they call ‘a paradigm shift’ of the utmost proportions.
( a paradigm shift is a fundamental change in the basic concepts, practices or underlying assumptions of a discipline or society.
This occurs when the usual and accepted way of thinking or doing things is completely replaced by a new and different framework.)
Most of my doctors (and I have quite a few these days, seeing as I am being seen by several hospital departments) think I am a frail old woman who would most probably die on the operating table, if they ever decide to do more than just wait for me to shuffle off.
Earlier this year, I was a frail old woman, unable to do even the simplest things. But not any more. I am stronger, and more capable. In many ways, better than I ever was, thanks to the exercise regime I do every day. I run the household, care for my ailing sister, and cook the meals. I can push the hoover around and wash the kitchen floor.
There still some things I haven’t tackled yet, but I am getting there.
I am still in a lot of pain, and this is something they say they can help me with. I cannot see very well with my left eye, because the lodger in my head is pressing on my optic nerve, but if I keep it shut, I can manage fine.
And, and this is the big one, I am writing my socks off!

love always
Jaye 💕
