I wondered how long it would take for the battle to begin…
I have been enjoying my new routines, and the amount of work I am getting to, so I shouldn’t really be surprised if life didn’t decide to throw a couple of spanners in the works, just to see if I rise to the challenge or run away and hide. Three days of interruptions and delays, but I didn’t sink into despair. The enthusiasm of my new work ethic stayed with me. Looks like I am finally on the right track!
I am not the hiding kind of gal, and just as likely to throw the challenge back than run from it.
But there’s not much you can do about life, is there? You chose it and like it or not, have to cope with anything it throws at you. I could really do without all the things that were not of my choosing, like deviations in the power supply or the cost of living soaring to new heights every day.
Some things are definitely out of our control, like family problems or illnesses and we have had quite a few of those lately. Yesterday, we had a family day, one of the grandbabies birthdays that has been postponed several times due to chicken pox. Frankie is barely five months old and seeing her yesterday nearly broke my heart. Covered in spots, she looked so sad. Her big sister had it first and her spots have nearly all gone now.
We all tried hard to enjoy the day, catching up on family stuff. I like to think our company cheered Frankie up a bit. We managed to get a smile and that was something to see.

Not all spots are lovely!
