Sharing the theme for my latest story with my favorite character, Detective David Snow, seemed like a brilliant idea at the time. I thought it would help both of us to cope and survive our current struggles.
Maybe that was a little too optimistic, for I find that both of us are struggling worse than ever. Neither one of us finding any workable solutions.
I am not really sure how I thought this idea would work. Was I supposed to lead the way, or would I find help in the pages of fiction?
Solving one person’s problems is one thing, but adding to another’s dilemma has turned out to be doubly distressing, and not as helpful as I thought it could be.
My own life is at a standstill. Waiting yet again for appointments. I still live with the hope that something can be done for me, as I find it hard to believe that in this day and age, you can be written off at the age of 82.
David’s life is also stagnant. His story began well, moody and atmospheric. It depicts the detective’s frustration and misery, slowly dissolving into passivity.
The middle section of his story is like mine, a bit boring. Endless waiting, never getting anywhere…
I am desperately trying to find some inspiration, something that will bring this story to a proper conclusion. Maybe I am attacking this joint problem the wrong way, and I should remove my state of mind from the equation. I wasn’t really expecting to find a miracle for either of us, but David Snow deserves one, at least…
love always
