Hi Folks!

Yesterday we had snow. But not the glorious blizzard we had the other day, I might add. It seemed half-hearted as if it just couldn’t be bothered.

Which is pretty much where I think I was yesterday too.

My office was freezing despite the six-foot storage heater along one wall, and I was so cold that I ached all over.

I was expecting the promised blizzard and was so disappointed. I didn’t feel much like working.

It would be warmer in the front room, but I knew what would happen if I gave up and went in there. I would curl up on the couch and be asleep in minutes. I convinced myself that I might feel more like doing something later.

Friday is the day the fridge freezer gets a professional look over, so there is a lot to do tomorrow. I must remove two kitchen cupboards and all the junk on top of the said fridge so it can be easily turned around.

Did I end up retreating to the front room?

Yes, I flipping well did, but…

But I wasn’t as tired as I thought. I wrote a blog post and then started a much-needed chapter on the WIP. I worked on the knitting (which I am still unhappy about). I finally made a decision and promptly unravelled back to the rib.

All in all, I seemed to do more work in one afternoon than in a full day in my freezing office. The only drawback was that the light failed quite early in that room, so I could have gone on and done a lot more work.

Is there a message in this post?

You bet! Keep warm, and you will work better!

  1. can you get a little space heater and put it under your desk? We like to keep the whole house fairlycool-ish, relatively, in winter, but have little ‘heat fountains’ :D in the areas we’re working in during the day.

    1. that sounds like a great idea, thanks Widds…

  2. Keep warm and you work better is the key.

  3. It’s snowing here today, which is a rarity in this part of Texas. But gotta stay warm, no matter what!

Our temperatures are in the minuses, which is also rare in the south of England. Keeping warm is definitely becoming a priority, Jan…

  4. Being warm is important. Cold rooms don’t make my productivity increase, either. I keep on thinking how much nicer it would be in that warm room downstairs.

    1. Sounds like you’re in the wrong room, Vivienne. Be warm, above all else, I say…

  5. I agree, I work better in the warm too. What is your Bluesky handle?
