While on my unexpected hiatus, I was feeling decidedly down in the dumps. I had been watching the tennis, seeing all those wannabees and hopefuls all trying to do better than last year. I usually love tennis, but somehow, this year, my aching bones reminded me of my age and how many times I haven’t been working on the final edit of The Mystery of Folly’s End.

I have had plenty of time to think during this hiatus, and most of those thoughts weren’t good. A fair bit of “raging against the Dying of the Light,” and all that.

Ever the rebel, though, I will be breaking that old commandment. I thought I would rage with the best of them when the time came, but now I can practically see it from here, I’m not angry any more. I will toddle off gently, grateful to be signing off at last…

But Not Yet…    My favourite line from Gladiator…

  1. Dylan Thomas is one of my favourite authors. I studied Under Milkwood at college, and thoroughly enjoyed it. And at school, our English teacher read us some of his short stories at the end of term.
But ‘do not go gentle into that good night’. You don’t need to rage, but keep of fighting to keep the light alive.

    1. that’s the plan, Vivienne… I aint going anywhere…
