Here are the two words selected by Ruth Scribbles, from last month’s #SyllablesOnly challenge:

COMFORT & WORN

My

Armchair

Soft comfort

Worn out, threadbare

Like me, it’s timeworn

Yet happiness lives there

relief for my aching back

My very tattered worn out friend

It started life in my mother’s house

Something no amount of money can buy…

  1. Beautiful poem! For sure money can’t buy most of the treasures.

    1. Thank you, Elizabeth…

  2. How lovely this is Anita. Did you ever notice that the older we get the more we value our chair? <3

    1. We do, don’t we?

  3. Those old comfortable chairs are like friends. I have one too. :-) Well done, Anita.

    1. Best place in the world…

  4. Now I also want to sit in that armchair 😁

    1. You would be welcome, Jude…

      1. 😁👌🏾👍🏾

  5. I also love family heirlooms, Anita. A fabulous poem.

    1. Thank you, Robbie…

  6. I can feel how cozy sitting in that arm chair is! For reasons related to losing my husband and son, I have either sold or donated most of the furniture I have had for the past 20 years. I have replaced it all with a hand-me-down from David’s brother’s girlfriend. It was a decision that was easy and hard to make but it brought heartache, not warmth and love.

    1. We hope that one day the hand me down will afford a small amount of comfort. We are sorry for your loss…
