HURT
Have you ever said something
You wish you could unsay?
Take the hurt back, stop the love
You hold so dearly from dying.
The look in her eyes lets you know
You have taken a small piece of her heart
Trodden underfoot.
Each time to speak out of turn.
You see her love fading
Why do you keep doing it?
Old hurts revisiting, adding to the new
Soon the key to her heart you won so easily
Will be lost. Forgiveness may be given
Memories wait an age to be forgotten.
Are you a leopard that cannot change his spots?
Or will you make an effort to hold your tongue…
