Empty Rooms…

I am disappearing with the days, the seasons

My mind no longer holds

the information I need for the future

Too many empty rooms inside my head

Dust, cobwebs, echoing lost moments

No longer can I file thoughts away

to tell my family when they come to see me

By that time, it has gone

into one of those empty rooms

Where I cannot go

I wonder what happens inside those rooms

Do my thoughts and feelings grow without me there?

I hear a song, and memories come flooding back

I am whole again for a day or two

I shut the door on those empty rooms

With yesterday’s dreams

I look forward to a brighter day…

I was thinking of sharing a ‘Look Back at 2024’ post today, but Sis kinda beat me to it with this thought provoking poem. I will be back tomorrow with my post…

We hope you all had a terrific Christmas, despite the weather…
