During my whimsical moment

I grant myself all sorts of fantasies.

Could I write songs from a pop star?

Write poetry to knock your socks off?

If it wasn’t for the clicking at the back of my mind

A warning, a storm is on its way.

The thought of something wonderful

keeps dangling in front of me.

Can I defy the fates?

Maybe if I knew what was coming,

I would have a chance, so to be to me,

I allow my mind to keep whirring,

continue to talk to myself

Tomorrow will be time enough to take the leap

to write my own fate…
