If life had been kind
That’s what I could be
Large and free
As it is, I sit here watching
my dreams go up in smoke
I could have been an eagle
Try caging me then
Now I wait for the cord
that binds us to snap
Letting loose my true self…

A bit of wistfulness here, Anita. Time to open that cage door and explore that freedom.

I think this poem reflects Anita’s own struggle for a little more freedom, Diana. Still not as strong as she would like, I’m afraid…

You can wait for the cord to snap or find a pair of scissors. Super poem, Anita.
