Working Cover

With one thing or another, things have conspired to make writing Swan Song, my latest mystery difficult, if not impossible.

I am so glad to report that all this has changed. I have no idea how or why, but I have been taking full advantage this week.

I had a much-needed brainstorming session with my sister, Anita, last week to give my head something else to think about, as the pain is just as bad.

I desperately needed something for my brain to chew on, and all this lovely activity is just what I needed. Since then, my brain hasn’t stopped thinking about the new story. Clever links I could have missed have surfaced, and so many what-ifs and could they’s have been flying around, that my office has not seen such excitement in many months.

I am excited and ecstatic in equal measure, and the words are flying on the page, up to 20.000 words already! It doesn’t feel like the influence of a muse, but wherever all this came from, it is so very welcome!

Just when I was thinking about promoting our other books, but I am definitely not complaining. There’s nothing quite like some creative thinking to put a smile on my face. I want to change the cover and title too.

I cannot wait to be able to start promoting Swan Song, as I have the feeling you are going to love it just as I already do.

    1. Yes, writing this story sure takes my mind away from everything else, Violet! 📚💖

  2. It helps so much to brainstorm with someone else. I do that with my sister often. Just saying it out loud can sometimes open up a block! Congratulations, Jaye!

    1. I always forget how good it is to talk things over with someone who cares, Jan…
