Morning everybody!

It is really cold here in the UK now, unusually cold for us, with temperatures as low as -5 in the south and a staggering -10 in Scotland. We cannot keep the house warm, and we are walking around like Eskimos!

There is a bright side to all this weather; we have been promised some snow. May not be much (as usual) but I hope we get a little, even if it doesn’t stay long…

  1. Brrr…

  2. Your weather is too cold for us , too.

    1. I am wrapped up like an Eskimo, John…

      1. I can believe it.

  3. Zero here with a real feel of minus 7. No more snowfall today, but lots of the compacted stuff so roads are dangerous.

    1. Good excuse to stay in the warm!

      1. It’s cold today and we had to go out. We had lunch out so enjoyed that, then did some shopping on the way home.

        1. So brave… but I’m not leaving the house until it gets a little warmer. (although this had better happen fast, as I have two hospital appointments next week!

          1. I have a blood test this afternoon and a hospital appointment tomorrow. The weather is still cold, but hopefully the roads won’t be too bad later today. Tomorrow we should have sunshine so all being well most of the snow here will go. However, we may be in for some more next week.

            1. Good luck with your appointment, Di. and I hope the sun shines for you!

              1. It’s lovely and sunny and has been all morning, so the ice has had a chance to melt. It will be dark when we come home though so I hope it doesn’t freeze again.

                1. I hope it doesn’t, slipping in the dark is not on!

                  1. Hubby drove us home and the roads were pretty good. We have very little of the snow left, but the little road opposite is like an ice rink and the pavements are bad in places. I walked Maya this morning and slipped at least three times so ended up walking on the grass and just hoped I didn’t step in anything.

                  2. That’s the thing about having a dog, that have to be walked no matter what! It’s not so cold here this morning and the snow has all gone. Hopefully that’s it for a while!

                  3. Our snow has all gone now, but we’ve had horrendous rain and high winds throughout the county. It’s been horrible today, but at least we didn’t get too wet.

                  4. Spring can’t get here soon enough, Di… 🪴🌼

                  5. I second that! It’s still cold and we have more bad weather on the way.

                  6. I don’t remember ever being this cold, probably something to do with the pain…

                  7. It could be. Hubby feels the cold terribly and the cold weather makes everything worse. I think we were actually warmer on the boat!

  4. Yes, it is bitterly cold and yesterday I headed into town for some shopping and not surprisingly found it quite empty! We had a dusting of snow and it is so beautiful especially with all the bright sunshine. Our bulbs, which came out early with the warmish December, are struggling alas. Hope you manage to keep warm!

    1. I am hiding out in my nice warm office, Annika. and I aint coming out until it warms up outside…

  5. They are even forecasting snow in Spain and there is some in the northern parts already!! I know how much you like snow, so I hope you get some. I was raised in it so don’t care to see it again. 😵‍💫

    1. I don’t really understand my love of snow, Darlene, as I don’t care for the cold it brings… we never get much where I am anyway…

  6. Snow is nice ❄️☃️

    1. Magical, Robbie…

  7. It is -50F here today- but we are set up to live in ungodly cold temperatures. I can only imagine enduring those low temperatures when you are not fully insulated and heated. Bundle up!

    1. How on earth do you cope with such low temperatures, Violet?

      1. You don’t go outside unless you have to. You run your car every few hours just to keep the engine running. Those are really the only major drawbacks. It isn’t much different than living somewhere that gets very hot.

        1. I wouldn’t like to be too hot either, Violet. I am getting very fussy as I get older…

          1. You are not alone in that! hehehe

            1. I do think we are allowed to be fussy…
