So many questions, I cannot ask them all.
They float inside my head like confetti, free falling,
as my life is spiralling out of control
Until I see her face in my rear-view mirror
She is driving a blue pickup, her eyes follow the road ahead
Her window open, hair flowing behind her like a dark river
Instantly, I knew I wanted her in my life
I must pull over, let her pass so I can follow her.
Foolish thinking, I lost her on the next over pass
My heart pounding so loud, I hoped
it was a voodoo drum message she would hear
Seems to me, the heart knows better than the mind
I could see the truck ahead on the A3,
my turn off coming up. I was driving behind her again.
Her lane was falling back. I passed her, noticing the baby seat beside her
My heart sank. Driving parallel now, I could see that she was a he
For those moments that passed,
a long-haired fellow had stolen my heart…
