For visually challenged writers, the image shows steps up and over a bridge, with narrow alleyways at each side of the bridge.
A great big thank you to Jemima Pett for agreeing to be the featured photo this month. What a beautiful photo for us. Pop over to her blog at http://jemimapett.com/ to show her some love!
The first step is the hardest
Take it, anyway, see where it will lead you
The bridge is beckoning
Like a curled finger, calling you on
The walls narrow,
taking you down secret alleyways
Muffled sounds emerge
from the hidden doorways
Life moving, unknown
to those outside the door
Overhearing part of the conversation
has you intrigued
Do you dare knock on the door
with some cockamamy excuse?
Hoping to be asked in
Sharing moments of a life that’s not your own
Building memories, collecting stories
That might one day be written
Openly searching for inspiration
For your own life to be less dull
You find it in the dark eyes of a stranger
Standing in the open doorway
Where you had knocked to call him forth
You knew life begins there…

Ooh how intriguing. I can’t decide if they are going to have an unfortunate ending with this mysterious stranger or not. So clever. Thank you for joining in the challenge:
