I have suffered with that fluttering feeling
for most of my life
When I was younger,
I believed it heralded good news
Most of the time it did.
Now, it’s happening more often
I put it down to old age
Getting nervous about things
Finally, I went to the doctor
He suggested an x-ray
Now I have a wonderful picture on my wall
Of the fluttery feeling inside my body
beautiful, crystal clear butterflies
telling me everything is all right…
