MS Word upset me again yesterday.
Actually, it made me really angry. (this new angry stuff will need addressing soon, but not today)
I know, I know, I swore I would never use Word again, but a new copy has recently been downloaded to the desktop, so I took a chance. (Google Docs can get a bit weird sometimes)
At first, everything went well, and I thought I was home free.
Then I noticed that the file I was working on looked odd. Weird squares had turned up, peppered between the text of the book I was working on. Some of the print had turned blue too.
I logged out of Word so fast my head spun.
This was when the fun really started.
Of course, I didn’t have a clue how to get rid of these things. I struggled for an hour on GDocs and did manage to get rid of the blue text, but not the weird boxes.
When some of the text changed colour while I was watching, I knew I had to do something drastic, like remove all the formatting, then do it all again.
Somewhere while all this was going on, I found myself wondering if it was time I gave up, hung up my writing boots. But what on earth would I do all day?
I wish I had managed to cope with Scrivener, because I wouldn’t have to worry about formatting…
Something I did enjoy this week, was finish reading Driven by Deceit by Georgia Rose.

Our Review
Laura is back from her holiday in Scotland. It is late, but she checks all the horses at the stable before going to her bed.
As I started reading, I too was glad to be back in familiar territory, with all the characters I have come to love.
In Laura’s absence, a new horse had arrived, along with her ex step mother, an unwelcome visitor. The horse is in poor condition, but this is just the start of the problems.
This is a fast paced and complicated story, with problems building to terrifying heights, involving most of the people in the village.
Laura’s step mother seems to be at the heart of it all, with enough deceitful goings on to sink a ship.
A master plan has to be created, cleverly worked out to trap the person responsible.
But does everything happen the way they want it to?
