Miles of snow has been forecast for all of the UK, but we just hoped for some, like we always do. Knowing full well that would be as likely as a heatwave in January. Nothing happened all day, so we gave up wondering.

Later in the evening, I happened to glance out of the window, and my heart leapt. It really did leap, for I love snow that much! The flakes were thick and plentiful, wonderful to see in the darkness.

Sadly, the joy lasts just twenty minutes. Then it changed to rain and every last snowflake vanished…

It’s a good job that memories last longer, isn’t it?

and no, I didn’t do this. I did when I was a child, though!

  8. Congratulations on the surprise: here in Germany, they seem to have forgotten what winter means. I watch the news and wonder how it can be not to expect snow and icy roads in winter. Enjoy the flakes! :-) I prefer cornflakes much more. Lol Best wishes, Michael

  10. I have just opened my front door to a Winter Wonderland this morning, so I hope you also had your share and a Wish come true. The forecast is for more during today with a warning until lunchtime tomorrow. It will obviously bring out lots of young smiles if it lasts and a few looks of trepidation from my age group, but like youu I shall try to catch one or two flakes on my tongue while I still can. Huge Hugs
