I stand in front of the stone carvings
Over a thousand years old
How has it not been obliterated in all that time?
The moment of discovery felt airless
Air burst forth, as I let go of the breathe I held
Quick to recognise the massive moment
I frown at my hesitation to move from the spot
I must if I want my name on the discovery
Dizzy with excitement,
I render all thoughts of being gazumped
While trying to register my find
It is forbidden to hide it, I mark the spot
As I walk away
What message is there in the astrology
Marked in stone of my discovery?
