I had great plans for the beginning of a new month, but somehow they haven’t materialised. Anita’s poem, from this time last year, sums up my state of mind this morning…

The Longing…

Time steals your dreams, if you let it

Hunger fills the hope of what once was

Every evening brings new dreams

Hope dances in and out of your thoughts

Longing leads you down new roads

Over strange tracks, where the ghost of yesterday wait

You remind yourself there are no ghosts

The tap on your shoulder, drags you to a dark place

A dim light illuminates a puzzle board

Choose wisely, these words are underlined

Each dream belongs to another

They are guaranteed to come true

Choose one, then leave your token at the door

If you dare…

  1. The opening line of Anna’s poem is worth paying attention. “Time will steal your dreams if you let it.” Don’t let it, Jaye.

    1. I don’t think time can do any worse to me, John, not now… but thank you for caring… 💖

  2. Oh my! And what pray tell is causing you to feel so dark? Beautiful expression, but not a very fun place to inhabit.

    1. Until I get some results from the medical profession, Violet, the darkness will prevail, I fear. It is comforting though, in a strange sort of way…

  3. A wonderful poem! But don’t let you put down by circumstances you can’t control. Switch off the news, take a walk and enjoy the time how it is. You will start with new power! Best wishes, Michael

    1. I wish I had your confidence, Michael. My life will get better soon, I’m sure… xx
