In the shadow of the mountain
I felt my blood cool, my footsteps become slower,
as if someone were pulling me back, holding me.
My mind on high alert, my thoughts upgraded
The stars began changing colour,
like million shards of a broken kaleidoscope
thrown into the air, my thoughts rushing to keep up
with the information penetrating my mind
Then, like an elastic band breaking at my back,
I was propelled forward
catching up with the other pilgrims on our journey to Rome
We had an appointment to receive a blessing from the Pope
I believe I had received mine in advance,
I would be forever changed
I wish you could see the world through my eyes
People, with their ever-changing colours are walking rainbows.
Never knowing how beautiful they are…
