I was awake early this morning, but when I staggered into the office, I didn’t switch on the computer.

I have been having a rough ride with technology lately and thought I would turn to my writing and the current WIP. It was barely light outside, and the house was quiet. Both of my patients were sleeping, and Milo had eaten his breakfast and gone for a walk. Considering it had been a while since I wrote anything, (tut tut!) the words came spilling out of my head like treacle. I was back in the story, remembering what everyone was up to, as if I hadn’t been away.

Just as I was pondering the value of technology versus writing, Milo jumped up on to the windowsill and peered at me through the glass.

He has such a sweet face, doesn’t he?

This was something I used to do every morning, and somehow had abandoned lately.

I have no idea how I lost these moments, but I am determined to reinstate them, as this is where the magic lives…

  4. Milo looks like a sweetie. Not mischievous at all! 😉

    1. That sweet expression hides a fierce protective temperament, Audrey. He saw off a cat three times his size when he was just a kitten… never a dull moment when he’s around…

  5. Yes, your kitty is a sweetheart.

    1. Daft as a brush, but we love him to bits!

  6. Milo is stunning!

    1. We didn’t want another cat after Merlin passed, but he has won all of our hearts…

  7. Great stuff, keep it going. I find I go to bed happier and sleep easier if I’ve had a good writing session that day.

    1. I could get used to feeling smug, too, Jessica… 😍

  8. Milo is adorable. Happy writing. xo

  9. Once a writer, always a writer.
The dynamic never goes away, but sometimes needs a rest or maybe a smidge of a jolt.

    (Hi Milo😺)

    1. Mind needs the solitude of the early morning…
      (Milo says hi!) 😸

      1. True.
        Maybe for Milo too?

        1. Milo is a strange cat, crazy as a box of frogs, but very loving… fits in rather well in our family!

  10. Great that you’re writing again. And feeling better. Milo looks to have recovered from his recent illness, too. I hope it stays this way.

    1. So do I, Vivienne…. There’s quite enough things to worry about as it is…
