I found this the other day when choosing a selection of Anita’s poems for the book we want to publish, and it seems to fit with all that has been happening…

Broken

Have you ever had one of those days
when you feel as though you are made of glass?
I am having one today.
I can feel small pieces slipping away as I walk
I am broken, disappearing slowly
I can almost see the pieces glistening behind me
like a trail of breadcrumbs.
Will someone follow and put me together again?

  1. Beautiful poem. Super selection for the times. Thanks Jaye and Anita.

    1. Thank you, John…

  2. A lovely though sad poem from Anita. In situations like these, I hope help is following close behind. <3

  3. I cannot think of words that would better suit the situation. Hang in … don’t shatter, for the sun will come out … hugs!

    1. I used to think I was shatterproof, but old age is beginning to change all that…

      1. I hear you. Decades of never so much as shedding a tear, and now it takes very little to turn on the faucet.

        1. It’s as if all the memories are ganging up on us!

          1. Exactly!

  4. Very graphic, thank you!. I’m only five foot now – having shrunk two inches as I’ve grown older. Hope I don’t disappear altogether just yet!! Trust you are now ‘all.together!’ xx

    1. Getting there!

  5. What wonderful imagery, a perfect choice.

    1. I thought so!
