I have known for most of my life that if you want to stay happy and grounded, you must spend time outdoors. Not necessarily gardening, but what else can you do in a garden?
I have a good excuse for not picking up a trowel, but stubborn is as stubborn does, and I am doing more and more jobs in my garden.
Earlier this year, I would get downright miserable every time I looked out the window. Everything looked pathetic, abandoned, and desperate. At least I thought so. It was winter though, so maybe I was being a bit hard on myself.
This has all changed, and several times this week, I have felt more than a little proud of my garden. The bonsai are all thriving (and almost ready for a prune). I have had help with the weeds and grass cutting in the main garden, so for once it doesn’t look like a jungle out there.
One thing I am really sure of is how much better I feel, even after a few minutes spent out there. This has reflected on my progress with the WIP, which is growing rapidly!
So I am wishing my favourite person a very happy birthday on his 100th, this week. A living example of how very good being outside is for us.

Best wishes, Jaye 💖💖
