Imagination Gone Wild… #Poetry

Imagination Gone Wild

In a forest glade, I heard her voice

The grey tree spirit whispered

I wish to be as you are now

Place your hand on my shoulder

Remember the days when we were older.

Her image fleeting, my mind rushing

Handheld against warm bark

I could not call her back

I walk on, the beauty of her face in mind

The sad expression on half open eyes

Soft full lips I long to kiss

Imagination gone wild

Yet my heart recalls a time

When we were older…
