It was her husband’s fault. He was the organiser so he should have warned her, but then he was equally overdressed in a suit and tie.
She had spent hours shopping for a new dress, finally settling on one in sapphire blue. It was full length with a strappy bodice but had a chiffon cape draping over the shoulders. She’d also treated herself to a new pair of shoes and matching clutch bag for the occasion.
