Escapees

An Enchanted Place

escape from the narrow

bounds that seek to confine

wild growth into untenable

constraints and embrace

the self discovery found

in freedom’s exploration

On day 307 of 365 Days Wild I stopped for a while to photograph the beautiful flowers that appear to have escaped from someone’s garden and are now growing along the pavement outside the fence.

I think it might be purple rock cress (Aubrieta deltoidea). This small herbaceous perennial is native to southeastern Europe, though it has been introduced in many areas as an ornamental plant. It is a great food source for early pollinators.

Have you spotted any garden escapees, recently. Let me know in the comments below.
