Yesterday was a cold wintery day, the type that makes you want to stay in and get cosy by the fire with a good book. I coerced myself into a couple of walks nonetheless and was, as usual, grateful to have got out in the fresh air and connected to nature. No surprises there!
Winter Ease
Though winter’s bite is setting in
My heart’s fire is still roaring
The naked trunks look sparse and thin
Yet hope peeps through, imploring
The copper husks and woodland musk
assure me and affirm me
I do not fear the early dusk
Each season has its journey
I’m letting go and letting in
With patience much is forming
Though winter’s bite is setting in
My heart’s fire is still roaring
