People write blogs for many different reasons. I started my blog simply because someone suggested it might be an excellent way to meet other indie writers. Since I still consider this a hobby more than anything (I taught elementary school for thirty-one years), I’m still getting used to the idea of calling myself a writer. It sounds pretentious to me for some reason, but I know it’s time to get past that notion. We all become writers when we put something down on paper or a computer screen. You don’t have to make a living at writing to call yourself a writer.
After eighteen months of blogging, I’m still here. Since I’m retired, I have the luxury of doing what I want. As I tell my wife, as soon as it’s not fun anymore, I’ll find something else to do.
