   Thanks for the story with a happy ending, Sally.. Too many didn’t have one back then. (My Uncle Bernard, whose 22nd birthday cake awaited him, was reported ‘missing.’ Gran put it in a tin and there it remained. He didn’t return but she never wore black, and lived in hope until she died.(He was thought to have gone down in his plane and neither were found.) I was around eight when it happened, and recall sobbing into my pillow. A familiar story from wars. Will humanity ever learn? Hugs xx
