I am lying here on the bed
The fan going above my head,
Such bliss I feel in the breeze,
From my toes and across my knees,
Over my stomach, up to my chest,
Luxury coolness, the very best.
Maggie is snoring at my side,
Stretched out herself, no longer fried,
Content and comfy, bless her cotton socks,
So glad all the contents were in the box:
Touch and go with some missing screws
Attached elsewhere, no doubt to amuse
The packers on the factory floor
Hiding those vital securing four.
All installed and working a treat,
Finally we’ll all get a good night’s sleep!
