Review of the film ‘Christopher Robin’.

We took our 11 year old granddaughter to see the film ‘Christopher Robin’ for a birthday treat, after she had suggested it.  I was surprised to see adults there who were not accompanied by little people, as I had originally thought it was just a children’s film.

Ewan McGregor plays the adult Christopher Robin, son of A.A Milne.  He has left Tigger, Eyeore and Winnie the Pooh far behind and has now become something of a workaholic,to the despair of his wife and daughter, who cannot remember the last time he laughed.

It’s an unusual film, comprising of both actors and walking, talking characters from A.A. Milne’s books, but there’s something in it for both kids and adults.  Children would like the wisecracking Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit et al, and I think adults would be quick to pick up on the moral of the story and  empathise with Christopher…
