Review of ‘The Night of Our Souls’.

Robert Redford and Jane Fonda come together again 50 years after ‘Barefoot in the Park’ in this lovely film ‘The Night of Our Souls’.  Redford plays Louis Waters, a lonely widower who receives a rather startling proposal from Addie Moore, a long-time neighbour of his who is also lonely having recently lost her husband.  Addie comes up with the idea of Louis platonically sharing her bed at night so that she can sleep again.  Just widowed, she cannot sleep on her own, and warns Louis that she is not looking for sex, just the companionship of another body next to her.  Louis is somewhat taken aback at the offer, and says he will ‘think about it’.

Redford and Fonda are both in their eighties now, but have still got what it takes to keep audiences enthralled.  Redford, due to his status in the acting world, no doubt has the ability…
