This post was inspired by an encounter I had, on Wednesday, with a Spirit Animal (a deer I have now met three times). Its purpose was, I suspect, to enlighten me. It came at a crucial moment: Plunged into a cauldron of darkness, I was very much in need of light.
Wind howled. Rain was lashing itself into a punitive frenzy. The vast orb of red sun had, earlier, cast its roseate shadow onto the canvas of the sky and, sweeping its dust train before it, given way to its paler, more ore than ire, brother. Potted plants lay aslant upon asphalt slabs, their colourful flowers, now withering, strewn around the garden.
To the credulous, and the soul-fearful, those who project terror upon others and never reclaim it, Monday’s sudden bronzing of the skies and fiery orb betokened Apocalypse. Sins of no real consequence were brought out and mumbled…
