I feel I must apologise to everyone who has been bothered by the silly Mailchimp subscription pop-up I installed last week.

In my attempts to do as I am advised and gather an email list, it turned out to be a nightmare. Worked fine (ish) on PC’s but if you were using a phone or other methods, you couldn’t see the blog at all.

So it has gone now. I no longer want or need an email list. I have banged my head on this particular wall for the last time, and will move on.

Normal service will be resumed the minute my temper subsides…

  1. I’ve wondered about that pop-up when it shows up on other blogs. Didn’t pull the trigger for mine and now probably won’t.

  2. Glad to read you triumphed against another ‘Skynet’ trap.

    1. I just wish it felt like a triumph!

      1. In my final place of employment I used to drive some of my younger colleagues to distraction by often saying in an infuriatingly confident tone “I cannot be held responsible for the shortcomings of the computer systems or the attendant programmes,”
and following a technically heavy reply responding.
“Yes, but that is of no responsibility of mine. I did not design the computer programme did I?”
Just as well retirement arrived in 2013….

  3. That last line made me chuckle. I haven’t come to terms with Mailchimp’s vagaries yet either.

    1. which one do you use, or don’t you?

      1. At present, mine go out manually.

        1. not sure what you mean, but sounds like something I should know about?
