A Great Watch…

At the end of our busy and complicated days, we like to relax in front of the TV and chill out before bed.

We usually watch a few episodes of a long-running series, and we have enjoyed quite a few of these.

The latest series, 800 Words, appealed to me as it seemed to be writing-related.

A recently widowed journalist with two children moves from Australia to a small town in New Zealand. He writes an 800-word daily column for an Australian newspaper about life in general.

When his attention focuses on small-town people and their activities, he finds himself in serious trouble with the locals and his family. They didn’t appreciate their grubby laundry being displayed for all to see.

As a writer myself, I have always appreciated the powerful consequences of words and how easily one can find oneself in deep water. Unlike most people, I don’t dwell on my past. There is far too much that I don’t need to remember; there will be no memoir from me!

This programme was enchanting in many ways. The scenery was incredible, lots of lovely sea and surfing, which made me very happy. 800 Words was an enjoyable, happy programme, and if you need a HEA, you won’t be disappointed…

I know I will, for I will spend it writing more chapters in the work in progress! 💖📚

I love this premise. There is an amazingly entertaining old black and white movie on a similar vein called Sitting Pretty! It’s one of my favorites.
