Keeping Busy…

They say you should keep busy whenever trouble arrives on your horizon, so I have certainly been doing that.

Wrecking our tiny kitchen to replace the ageing and defunct fridge freezer has been distracting (and exhausting!), and I haven’t given much thought to my oncoming problem. (much is a fantastic word, isn’t it, especially if you’re as good at multitasking as I am)

After dismantling two cupboards and cleaning up the years of accumulated grime, I packed as much of the frozen food as I could into cool bags with additional ice packs, and this was a job in itself. Several items that must have been hiding in the fridge for years found their way into the bin, which helped a bit. Defrosting took all day, but finally, we were ready for the switchover.

Yesterday, after the new fridge-freezer arrived, we had to put everything back where it belonged.

By the way, I can definitely recommend insuring your appliances. In just a few days, we acquired a brand new fridge freezer, and it didn’t cost anything, not even for delivery. Our washing machine might be next, as it’s not spinning right.

I wonder what I can do today to keep my mind busy. Sis wanted to walk to town, so I’ll go with her. That’s if I can find my hat, scarf and gloves, for it’s not getting any warmer around here!

My thanks to everyone who sent hugs my way, they have kept me calm, and I will be taking them all to the hospital tomorrow… 💖💖

I see in the comments that the fridge opened correctly and fit. Great news. I’m seeing this on Wednesday and hope all went well.

I had the scan, but they never said a word. This is normal here in UK, we have to wait for a verdict…

It’s cold here, too. Keep well wrapped up for your walk. We were going to walk to town, too, but I’m waiting for a phone call from the doctor’s surgery. It’s with the pharmacist, for a medication review. It was originally 9am. Ay least that’s what my original appointment said. At 10.30 I checked online and it said 11.00. They changed it without informing me!

It’s now 12.20. The surgery closes for lunch at 12.15. I’m still waiting.

Looks like my walk to town ain’t gonna happen. At least not until late.

When are they going to stop treating us as unimportant?

I rang the surgery in the afternoon. The person I spoke to looked and told me that the doctor (not the pharmacist with whom I had the appointment) had looked at my medication and decided I was doing alright, so didn’t need the appointment.

It would have been nice if they had told me!

The person I spoke to said that if I wanted, the pharmacist could still ring me. I said, ‘Yes, please,’ but still got no call.

I think you should look for a better surgery, Vivienne… one that will treat you like a person, not a statistic…

So, did it come with the door opening the way you wanted it to open? Stay warm and dry out there!

Yes, the fridge freezer is perfect. Just the right size and everything… at least something has gone right this week…
