Writing News…

For a bear with a very small brain, why do I keep buying complicated techno equipment that I know will drive me crazy?

I ask myself this question every time I switch on my computer or pick up my phone. Every one of these clever devices could kill your brain. I know this, for my brain is the smallest it has ever been!

Even knowing this, has this stopped me?

Nah… I must already be crazy to even consider using any of them.

I have wasted all those wasted hours trying to find what I did wrong and then trying to fix it. So, knowing all of this, what did I do?

I went and bought another one!

There was some logic involved, however. As a writer, I have to write my books on paper and then transcribe them to Microsoft Word or Google.

Twice the work, right?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if I could write for hours and then, with the touch of a magic button, send what I have written to Ms. Word, everything magically transformed into print? Think of all the time I could save!

This is possible with my new toy, which I call a toy mainly because it hasn’t driven me insane yet.

There is time for that to happen before you say it…

So, what is this genius thing that will reduce my workload and save my arthritic hands and dodgy eyesight?

I have known about the reMarkable2 for quite a while now, but lack of funds has prevented me from getting one. Which was a shame because It’s such a remarkable piece of kit that it should halve my workload. Did I just say that? Sorry!

I couldn’t afford a new one, as we are still in the church mouse condition, but I found one that someone had bought but didn’t get on with, for half the price. It had only been used twice and was still in its original packaging.

Maybe knowing they hadn’t mastered it should have rung a few warning bells. Knowing about my lack of grasping anything more complicated than opening a book should have stopped me right there.

But you see, I have a problem with being stubborn.

If I want to do something, I never listen to logic or reason.

So, have I mastered it yet?

Well, yes and no, but it is looking hopeful.

All I can say for sure is that it really can send my scribble, magically transformed into print, to my email address, Google and/or OneDrive!

(this is one I did earlier!)

best wishes
