When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?

Daily writing prompt
When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?

Maye Peter Pan is a relative?

My family think I am very weird. They love me, but they never know what I will get up to next.

I don’t think I have ever felt grown up, but not knowing what that would feel like, would I even recognise it?

Personally, I never wanted to be a grown-up. I remember that I couldn’t wait to be old enough to do things my way, but that’s as old as I ever wanted to be. I recently had my 80th birthday, a rather grand affair, as my family seemed to think it wonderful to have reached that grand old age. It was a strange day, almost as if this 80-year-old was someone else and not me at all.

I don’t think or feel old. I couldn’t put a number on it, but I feel the same as I always have. My brain is the same, and I know I don’t think any different about anything.

Even though I have learned a lot over the years, underneath, I am the same as I always have been.

Maybe I am a bit weird after all…

We’re as old as we allow ourselves to feel. Happy belated birthday Jaye. <3

I am definitely not a grown up. My preschoolers can attest to that. 🙂

Aging is a funny thing. The mind doesn’t feel any different, but the body starts to complain. :)

Growing up is overrated. I tried it once and didn’t like it.

In answer to your question, ‘Never.’

As a fellow octogenarian, like you I still feel 18. Someone once said, and I can’t remember who or where I saw it, “The tragedy of old age is not that people get old, but thI occasionally see some youngsters doing some activity and think, “That looks like fun.” Then my brain says “Don’t be stupid. You aren’t 20 anymore”

I try not to listen to my brain, Vivienne, but usually regret it the next morning.

I hear you, but feeling grown up has to be over rated, don’t you think?

Don’t worry! Also the Bible says: “If you don’te become (like) a child, you will never reach heaven!” :-) Best wishes, Michael
