Apart from wishing I was a techno genius, I have always wanted to be able to play the piano.

My father, bless him, who I never got meet thanks to WW2, could play like an angel, I have been told. He could also cut a mad rug, and I have this mental picture of a khaki clad soldier thumping away on a piano, his big army boots smacking out the rhythm…

In my heart, I can play like my dad. I can actually feel it. Over the years, many people have tried to teach me. I can read music and pick out a tune with my right hand, but to me, it’s not good enough… I want to be concert pianist brilliant…

    I would like to play the piano too. Growing up we didb’t have the money and later the time. So here we sit, doing the shoulda woulda coulda thing.

              I do try, John. The music is sacred to me, but if only is always lurking in the background… I think this is because the piano thing is tied up with remembering my dad, who I never got to meet…

    I have always wished I could pay the piano as well but just couldn’t get the hang of it. I also can’t type (believe me many of tried to teach me) So as a writer, the skill I wish I had was to be able to type.
