I Remember… #Poetry

I remember…

I circle between heaven and hell

Like a buzzard

I am neither up nor down

Tiny pinpricks of silence pierce my mind

I remember a life before the feathers

that now hold me in the loft

I walked on two legs, spoke in a foreign tongue

I had no name, no home

Left outside the circle, I wandered many years

before you found me and took me to your home

I could not stay; life would not cling to me

You buried me beneath the ground

I became snowfall, a wisp of wind

before passing through a sea of souls

to find my home among the stars

Where there were many faces I remember

Before life can begin again…
