Ten days into the new year, and so far, it has been a great beginning.
Yesterday should have been a good day, as I was beginning to expect it.
I was disappointed when the computer started to play up, buffering and refusing to do anything. I could feel my newfound enthusiasm slowly sinking.
I gritted my teeth and tried to carry on, rebooting and trying all the usual tricks to get some work done. When this didn’t work, I sank further down the frustration ladder.
This was when something else joined the party, and before I knew what I was doing, I switched the computer off!
There was something immensely satisfying in saying no, for I suddenly realised that was what I had just done. Something I would have done years ago rather than keep bashing my head against the wall.
So, was this a me I haven’t seen in a while?
I left the office without a second glance. I launched into a day of housework, trying to lose the frustration as I caught up with the most outstanding jobs.
I was exhausted but very pleased with my efforts at the end of a busy day.
This was another strange feeling for me, as it had been a while since I had cause to pat myself on the back.
Today, I am looking for more chances to shine… and I had better find some…
