Ragamuffin Memories – #poetry #FebruaryWriting

Dorinda Duclos's avatarNight Owl Poetry – Dorinda Duclos

Clothes, too large, tattered and torn

Sweater sleeves cut, used for socks

No place to turn, no phone to call

Out on the streets, of hard knocks

Dirty knees that haven’t had a bath

In so long, you’ve forgotten now

Panhandling your way, for a buck

But no one will feed you, anyhow

Wandering, empty, down the lanes

Where others avoid you, quite cleverly

Shadows at night, in the splatter of rain

Leave you, with ragamuffin memories
