As the last few days of 2025 struggle to make it to the end of this terrible year, I have just spent most of yesterday sorting out what I hope will be my last mistake of the year. (and it turned out to be a bummer!)
2025 has been one hell of a year for me, one way or another, and thankfully, I have been forgiven for most of my faux pas!
I have nearly hollered Uncle on more than one occasion, as the intense pain has robbed me of most of my brain cells and all of my memory. I never knew that pain could affect all of my rhyme and reason so badly.
This time, though, it wasn’t really my fault. (and I am claiming the Fifth Amendment on this)
When my sister finished writing The Lost Lullaby, she wondered if, being a totally different genre for her, it might be better released under a pen name. A lot of writers do this, so I didn’t think it would be a problem.
This is where Amazon and I parted sensible company. I thought all I had to do was publish the story on KDP, using the pen name, and all would be well. How wrong can one person be? (Don’t bother answering that, as I know all about being wrong. I wrote the book!)
The main problem was that I didn’t know I had done anything wrong. It was days before messages from some of our followers reached me, saying that they were having trouble posting their reviews. I think most of them have given up, I am sorry to say.
I did try to put this right, following the detailed instructions from Amazon, but you must know the story. The more I tried, the worse it seemed to get. Just before I pulled the rest of my hair out, I decided that it was time to start again. I unpublished the story and published it under my sister’s name. I had to change the cover and the documents to pull this off.
I will be posting a new promotion piece soon, including an excerpt and the one hard-won review.
Apologies again for getting it wrong…

2026 had better be better!
