Oooops… I’ve gone and done it again! #Puzzles

Oooops… I’ve gone and done it again!

I never seem to be happy with anything I have done lately.

Is this an old age thing, I wonder?

Whatever it is, I wish it would stop, for I am driving myself nuts!

You may have noticed I have been tinkering again, but this time, it was for a good reason. Somewhere along the line, our subscriber form had vanished from our website.

When I tried to replace it, I was told that our current theme did not support a subscriber embed form. Which was a puzzle, for it did before.

Time to change our theme, again.

I didn’t have much luck doing this last time, but I’m far too stubborn for my own good, so I was going to try again.

I did a lot of reading about the process, you understand, to be better informed. It still seemed like an impossible and very complicated task.

I gave up on the first day, my poor head screaming at me.

Then I had an idea. Instead of making sure everything looked good and was in the right place before I switched, I reasoned that I could always change anything I didn’t like afterwards.

I am pleased to tell you that this method actually worked, and our theme has changed.  I have also added a subscriber form. The trouble is, I have no way of knowing if it will work!

It would be wonderful if our followers could press that button to join our mailing list? (for regular updates on our work plus free copies)

Thank you all so much, in advance?

Best wishes from both of us…

I use a “legacy” theme (meaning old) and am dead scared to move to a different one, but it does limit some features.

I tried on the website (not in the WP Reader) and it gave an error message, asking me to refresh and try again. Two things to consider: (1) Typically, the WP Reader will not show your “button” or the “form” but it will allow you to show the hyperlink; (2) There are many variables at play, including your service provider for recording and storing the subscribers’ addresses. If you would like to know more, reach me through my site’s Contact form. I’ll respond via email, and we can continue the discussion outside the WP Reader.

But it did from the popup. But I think that was to follow you on your website, not your newsletter, which is odd, since I already subscribed to your blog.

I tried and it didn’t work. But that may be because I already follow you. Perhaps someone who doesn’t already follow you should try.
