I was feeling a bit of an anticlimax yesterday morning.
The visit to the hospital and subsequent scan was so quick that it left me feeling deflated. However, the Lord knows how long I must wait for a verdict.
At the back of my mind was the usual unwanted question, one I didn’t want to think about, but my sore head had other ideas. Like everything else that’s wrong with my ageing body, is my brain simply too old and worn out, too?
I don’t do waiting very well, so imagine my surprise when I discovered we were having visitors. Our youngest great-granddaughter is teething and needs a distraction.
Little did I realise that I needed some, too!

Frankie is such an adorable child, a joy to be near, and so playful. I haven’t laughed so much in ages. It was such a beautiful afternoon, full of happiness and joy. She is walking now and beginning to talk.
The sound of a child’s laughter certainly brightened our day…
